Privacy Policy
Thurlex Outdoor LLC ("Thurlex") runs this site. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do about it.
What we collect
You give us: name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number; order details including what you bought and any warranty registration; payment information entered directly with our payment processor, where we receive confirmation and the last four digits of the card but never the full number; and any emails, reviews, warranty claims or support messages you send us.
Collected automatically: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring site, and cookies as described below.
From others: our payment processor, shipping carriers, fraud-prevention tools, and analytics or advertising providers where you have allowed that.
We do not collect Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, precise geolocation, or biometric information. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; this site is not directed to minors and you must be 18 to buy from us.
Why we use it
To take and fulfil orders, take payment, ship, and handle returns and warranty claims. To answer your messages. To send order and shipping notifications. To send marketing email if you asked for it. To prevent fraud. To understand how the site is used and improve it. To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Who we share it with
Service providers who need it to do their job for us: our ecommerce platform, payment processor, shipping carriers, email platform, reviews platform and analytics providers. They may use it to serve us and not for their own purposes. Also professional advisers, and anyone we are legally required to disclose to. If the business is ever sold or merged, customer information may transfer as part of it.
We do not sell your personal information for money. If we run advertising pixels, sharing information with those partners may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law — see Your California rights below.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the site to work (cart, checkout, security) and, where you allow it, cookies for analytics and advertising. You can manage these through the cookie consent banner Shopify displays on this site. Turning off necessary cookies will break checkout. We honour the Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out of sale and sharing.
How long we keep it
Order and transaction records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Warranty registrations for the life of the warranty plus a reasonable period. Marketing contacts until you unsubscribe. Support messages: retained per Shopify's standard platform retention for merchant communications.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your California rights
If you live in California, you can ask us to: know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it and who we shared it with; access a copy of it; delete it, subject to exceptions such as completing an order or meeting a legal obligation; correct it if it is inaccurate; opt out of sale or sharing of your personal information; and limit our use of sensitive personal information, though we do not collect categories that trigger this.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
How to make a request: email alex@thurlex.com, or write to Thurlex Outdoor LLC, 3101 Park Boulevard, Palo Alto, CA 94306, United States. We verify it is you, usually by matching details against an order, and respond within 45 days or tell you if we need more time. An authorised agent can make a request on your behalf with written permission.
To opt out of sharing for advertising, use our Your Privacy Choices page or send the Global Privacy Control signal from your browser.
Shine the Light. California Civil Code section 1798.83 lets California residents ask once a year about personal information we disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing. Send that request to alex@thurlex.com.
Marketing
You can unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any email, or by emailing us. We will still send transactional messages about orders you place. If you sign up for text messages that is a separate opt-in and you can stop it by replying STOP.
Changes
We post a new effective date here when this changes, and tell you directly if the change is significant.
