Hammers
Claw hammers, framing hammers, and combination tools that live in a truck. Head weight, claw type and handle material are listed plainly on every product page.
Head weight is the main decision. Lighter heads are easier to control for trim and household work; heavier heads drive framing nails in fewer swings and punish you if your technique is off. Curved claws pull nails better, straight claws pry better.
Check the handle for cracks and the head for looseness before use, and never strike one hardened face against another.
